Sod & landscaping answers

Questions, answered straight.

Everything Fort Worth homeowners ask us about sod, pricing, rooting and care — no runaround.

How much does sod installation cost in Fort Worth?

It depends on the size of your yard, the grass variety, and how much prep the ground needs. Supply-only (picking up pallets) is the most affordable option; full installation includes delivery, grading and laying. Customers regularly tell us our pricing beats the larger metroplex suppliers. The best way to know your number is a quick free quote — call (817) 903-7399 and we'll measure it up.

What is the best sod for Fort Worth and North Texas lawns?

It comes down to your sun and traffic. St. Augustine is lush and the most shade-tolerant — popular for yards with tree cover. Bermuda (including Tif419) and Celebration Bermuda love full Texas sun and handle heavy foot traffic. Zoysia is dense, soft and lower-maintenance. We stock all of these and match the right grass to your yard.

How long does new sod take to root?

With proper watering, new sod typically begins rooting within 2 to 3 weeks and is well-established in about a month. Several of our customers report St. Augustine catching root in just a few weeks. The keys are fresh-cut sod, good soil contact, and consistent watering for the first two weeks.

Do you deliver sod, or only install it?

Both. Buy fresh-cut sod by the pallet for pickup or delivery, or have our crew handle the full installation including grading and prep. Many customers start with a quick call to reserve the pallets they need.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Burleson and serve Fort Worth and the wider DFW metroplex — including Crowley, Mansfield, Arlington and surrounding communities. Not sure if you're in range? Just call and ask.

When is the best time to lay sod in Texas?

Sod can go down nearly year-round in North Texas, but spring and early fall are ideal because milder temperatures help roots establish before extreme heat or cold. Summer installs work well too with diligent watering. We'll advise on watering for the conditions.

How do I care for new sod after it's installed?

Water deeply right after installation and keep the sod consistently moist for the first two weeks while roots take hold, then gradually reduce frequency. Avoid heavy foot traffic early on, and wait until it's rooted before the first mow. We'll give you simple watering guidance with your install.

Besides sod, what else do you do?

Along with sod supply and installation, we handle landscaping and lawn restoration, fencing, and tree care (trimming, removal and cleanup). In fall and winter we also sell seasoned firewood by the pallet.
